MULTIPLE BUILDING CERTIFICATIONS 

LEED Campus and multiple building certification is available for multiple buildings on a single site and offers several options to help project owners determine the best, most cost-effective way to reach their goals. In some cases, it’s one single certification that applies to many buildings and in others it might be reviewing credits once to be utilized by several certifications. A campus can be any shared site; it doesn’t have to be a traditional university or corporate campus.

Projects document applicable prerequisites/credits once for the entire campus. This allows them to demonstrate a whole-campus strategy for certification of individual buildings or a group of buildings. Once approved, credits were available to LEED projects (individual buildings) associated with the master site and located within the same LEED campus boundary.

The LEED campus approach is not a new rating system, but a program designed to simplify the certification process for multiple buildings while maintaining the technical integrity and rigor of LEED. Most important, it saves the time and documentation needed for the project and captures economies of scale in the certification process.
